Neglected Blog

I absolutely have to start writing down all the adorable things these kids are doing! I will regret it forever if I don't. The little ones are super cute and Adrienne is a softball superstar!

Lily and Stevie are playing on my bed right now watching "Upside Down Show" and cracking up. Their little giggles are so cute. The show is two men acting really silly and having a huge imagination.

Steve and Adrienne just got in from doing some practice drills in the front yard. Steve is always practicing with her, especially before team practice and it really shows in her performance.

More to come soon!

Neglected Blog

I think about blogging all the time, but simply don't do it. I have been swamped, but I don't want to lose all that I have been doing and how my business is growing exponentially. If I get it all down in writing, it will at least be like a bookmark in time. :)

This is the first year I have been doing festivals and boy has it grown my business! Connecting with my local market has made my business profitable and so much more enjoyable. To have my customers hold my jewelry in their hand and be able to share my artistic process and be able to talk out custom designs has been very exciting.

I have been doing several festivals. This coming weekend is the Oktoberfest in Concord, CA so if you are in the area stop by!

More to come soon, I promise :)

Art, Wine and Jazz Festival

I was accepted into the Art, Wine and Jazz festival in Brentwood, CA and I am very excited. This will be my first participation in an event that is exclusively for artists. I have been in several trade shows, but mixed in with Mary Kay, Silpada, Scentsy etc. Although I admire all of those brands and their products, I am happy to be at an event where I don't have to tell everyone that it is handmade and admirers asking me what company I work for.

If you happen to be in the Bay Area in California this weekend, August 28th and 29th, I would LOVE for you to stop by and say hi! The event will be at the Streets of Brentwood at the corner of the Highway 4 Bypass and Sand Creek Rd.

Have a great weekend!

Family Reunion

Today we are going to Los Gatos to reunite with Tricia's brothers. She hasn't seen her older brother Dennis for 10 years and her younger brother, Michael for about 4. They haven't seen the little ones so I am sure they will be fully entertained.

Family Fun Day

Yesterday I was a vendor at a local event. This is new for me, since I usually sell online or well planned home shows. It is quite a culture shock for me. The days are long, and I have very little control over the foot traffic or advertising for the event. I haven't been very happy with the last two I did as far as sales goes, but the marketing and network opportunities they have presented are quite unique.

I realized recently that even though I do a substantial amount of business all over the world, my community doesn't know me very well! I really enjoy getting to know other vendors, and here about the successes and failures of local entrepreneurs. I have made some good contacts and have good leads on future events. I also love to see what others are doing artistically. Nothing beats seeing art in person. Although photography can represent a piece fairly well, you can't beat the tactile experience.

I will post my events as I schedule them. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Of Course...

Of course I get sick the day before a show. My house of 6 people have been passing it around since the week before Christmas and I have been nursing them back to health. Somehow I escaped coming down with it the whole time. Toddlers coughing in my face, snotty noses being wiped on my shirts, the whole 9. I went through two cans of Lysol and constantly washed my hands. I thought I escaped it. Well, I didn't.

Tomorrow I will be a vendor at a cool show in Concord, CA and it is supposed to be big. A bring in the new year and get a head start on you resolutions type event. If you are around the Bay Area, stop by. I promise I won't cough on you.
